Belt
Ch'ing Dynasty (A.D. 1644-

       This formal court 
belt of  bright yellow has 
a  tassel at one end and 
incorporates  four  oval 
plaques  of gold filigree 
inlaid with gemstones and 
pearls.  From rings below 
two of these plaques are 
suspended  a  purse,  a 
matchbox,  a  toothpick 
cylinder and a small knife 
in a sheath.
